however, the exception to the rule is if you do not absolutely know 100 percent certain, you use the abbreviation. A good MT knows the rules. An exceptional MT knows the rules AND the exceptions to the rules, as you apparently do, or you would not have said "I know, I know, leave it as BPH." I do realize that "benign prostatic hyperplasia" and "benign prostatic hypertrophy" pay more than BPH, but getting it wrong could cost someone their life.
