First of all, the article you are apparently referencing is advertising. It is the product of a person who has an outsourcing company and who is advertising to promote his own interests. Anyone reading articles like that and believing them is not exercising good critical thinking. While some of the things he says are valid, they need to be taken in the light of the entire industry and that eliminates some of the conclusions that you have drawn.
As for why this board is no longer populated by coders, the explanation is very simple. This is not a coding-focused board. It has never been a good place for coders to discuss their field. It is a board for medical transcriptionists, some of whom were interested in coding and others who were interested in slamming coding. Several of us stayed here to provide information for the MTs who were interested in coding, but the majority of MTs who were interested in transitioning to coding have already done so. What is left here seems to be a clique of the MTs who hate coding and are only interested in cooking up conspiracy theories about its demise. Since there isn't any point in us staying here to discuss coding -- which is impossible due to the negative environment -- we left for better pastures on Facebook. There, we can participate in boards that are strictly coding-oriented. Those boards have restricted admission and behavior standards that allow for prompt removal of individuals who fail to adhere to those behavior standards. As at least one of you has discovered, propagation of the same type of unfounded negativity that you engage in here leads to immediate removal.
Your next retort is going to be that we are sticking our heads in the sand, ignoring the obvious signs of the sky falling, and that we will get ours in the end.
Whatever.
