with the use of Olympus software, even with .wav files, that they are unable to be played by any other type of software. Olympus has designed their software that way so that the files played by their equipment cannot be played by any other software. There is no "work around" either. Either your contractors have to have Olympus software in order to open the files, or they need to be converted somehow, and I do not believe there is a conversion program out there that will convert Olympus files to standard .wav files. It is a huge drawback for anyone using Olympus and a major reason why I never invested in it. Good luck to you!! truly.
