While you may blast through easy work, work with poor audio, difficult dictations that require a lot of research would probably yield closer to the average ratio of 4:1 so taking 4 minutes to transcribe and proof 1 minute of dictation. The work does require proofing doesn't it? Long jobs have to be proofed as well. A seasoned transcriptionist is doing everyone a disservice by working for 30 dollars per audio hour. The exception would be if they can consistently make around 15 dollars per hour by working for 30 dollars per audio hour. The key here folks is consistently making that, not just having one day where you are going downhill with the wind in your back so to speak. The poster does mention difficult work though, so I'm thinking you would not be able to yield a 2:1 ratio.
