Go to the tools tab in GearPlayer - then click options...

then open the directory/files tab. Under that, you will see if you have the WAV file box checked. If you do, great. If you don't check the WAV files box then click OK. Also, I have always found it best to save the file on my desktop and drag the file into the GearPlayer that is open on my screen. Hope that helps!
