I still do MT but also got outside work. When I needed a "bigger" outside job, 2 of my references were the boss and wife of the "small" outside job since they had become friends. If you have no personal references at all, I'd try using a relative and just explain that you worked at home for many years, and if they want long-term references, your family is what you have at the moment. Neighbors? Religion? I miss being at home more, but I needed more than what MT could bring.
