I was recently offered an IC position with Allegis doing insurance transcription. They offered me $1.50 per page ($1.45 while in training). The woman I spoke with who hired me was very nice; however, I have been reading a lot of mixed reviews on this company. Is it really possible to earn a decent living at $1.50 per page? I was told that many of the dictations are anywhere from 30 minutes to over an hour long! I've never done insurance transcription before, so this would be new to me. It is also strictly verbatim. Any feedback on working for this company would be greatly appreciated!
