Mollie and pathology - An MT

Posted: Feb 5th, 2017 - 1:47 pm In Reply to: How hard is Pathology? - Mollie

Pathology can be a very specific type of work and very difficult and very precise. You have to be prepared to be extremely accurate in all measurements and terminology. It might help if you have a pathology book that you could purchase from Barnes and Noble, Stedmans's, or maybe amazon.com? If you have a natural instinct to do well in transcription, then you might do just fine. Even at our local hospital, we had to have special, supervised training before we were allowed to do pathology and I had been doing this for 20 years then. I also have done very long dermatopathology reports where they are 2 pages long and about skin cancer screening and stuff like that, but that was for dermatology clinic work. Hey, if you get paid more for a local job, hope you give it a try and do well. Just have confidence in reference books, the internet, and YOU!
