I have over and over encouraged people to start getting some training or looking for work other than MT. I'm always told I don't understand, I'm mean, I'm not in their situation, etc., etc.
Fact is, it's not easy. I think most people would find it hard. I surely did.
Sometimes it's a horrible Catch 22--you don't have a car, so you can't look for a job. Well, yes you can. Online. I've suggested several times that people go to their favorite online catalog store, and hit the "careers/employment/job opportunities" tab and start there. Those people taking your online or phone order WORK FROM HOME. Do you think these places have a physical call center with hundreds of people working there? Nope, they work from home.
