I'm not sure if I understand 100% but I think your employer would have to remote in to your computer to see what you are doing. Clearing your browsing history would be so that the next person who used your computer would not see where you had been. Firefox advertises as being a secure browser, I'm don't know why you are concerned if you are not doing things you're not supposed to be doing on your work computer. Use a different device with a different browser for personal/non-work stuff and you won't have to worry.
