It isn't snooping per se. If I call Verizon tech support re: need more data, or have some issue, they absolutely know what websites I spend the most time on. I can't tell them I ran over my data limit because of work if that isn't true, because they will say, oh really, because it looks like you used 3 GB on eBay this month, do you work for eBay now? When I have gone over limit because my Android phone had a Verizon update that used a bunch of GB, they will usually credit me that data and not argue about it. Believe me, they know. Maybe it's not really snooping, but they know.
