1. Every MTSO in the country has a backlog of applicants anyway, or can immediately get as many as they want by simply posting a couple of ads.
2. How bad of an employee or unskilled as an MT must you be if you live in fear that you're going to be replaced at any moment? It costs companies much more than you know to lose experienced people and bring on new ones, and they don't do it on a whim.
3. You're preventing the labor marketplace from working properly and probably contributing to low line rates in the bargain. By sharing information, you're helping the natural economic forces to weed out bad companies and reward good ones. The good companies, having the workforce to handle more work, will pick up more and more contracts and can constantly expand while the bad companies wither. THIS IS NOT A ZERO-SUM GAME.
4. Funny that in most other fields people willingly share both good and bad information about employers, and they don't suddenly find themselves standing in unemployment lines.
I think this is just one more example of the fact that our field is dominated by women. Scaredy-cat women.
