I am using an older version of Meditech, Magic Workstation 4.0, but may still work for you if you are using a different version.
Place your cursor at the begining of the text and hit F1 on your keyboard (you may hear a sound), then place your cursor at the end of the text and hit F2. Click on "Attributes" from the drop-down list on the window that pops open...then select "Bold" and then F12.
