Company Board

To the Powers That Be at IMedX - fed up MT

Posted: Jan 21st, 2017 - 8:38 am

You bought the company that I was working for, and then took away over 60 hours of vacation time that I had earned.  You changed the rules without even telling me, and when I wanted to take a well-earned vacation, I learned that I could not.

Then you took away the accounts that I was working on and gave them to someone overseas.

You put the work that was left on a clunky program where it takes me twice as long to earn half as much as I made before.

Then you decided I wasn't worth a $25 Christmas bonus.

And now you've taken away my sick time.

Your company is all about medical transcription.  Without us, you would have no company.  And yet you treat us like we don't even matter.  You think you are saving money by shipping the work offshore, but then you have to pay QA people to fix the garbage that comes back.  How is that saving you money?  Now you're paying twice for each report.  And I cannot stress to you enough how dangerous it is to have people who barely know our language handling important medical documents.  Lives are at stake!  What will happen to your precious company when someone makes a critical mistake and someone dies?  The family learns that shoddy transcription caused a medication error that killed their loved one, and they sue the company.  Don't think it can't happen; it already has.

I am a medical language specialist.  I work hard and take pride in my work.  I catch errors that physicians make and correct them or flag them so that they can be checked.  My top priority is producing an error-free report because this report is about an actual human being.  I have been called at 2 a.m. to type a stat and have gladly done it, because a patient is awaiting emergency surgery.  I've given up my weekends to help get the work caught up.  I've placed my loyalty in this company, but what have I gotten in return?  You have taken away my pay and perks that I used to receive for a job well done.  You do not inspire loyalty this way.  Instead, you make us feel worthless.

When all your good transcriptionists leave, you'll be left with second-rate typists who produce low-quality work.  Is that the reputation you want to have?  And when all your clients leave, where will that leave you?  Well, when this company folds, you'll just find yourself another six-figure job somewhere else, right?  Meanwhile, I struggle to put food on the table and pray I never get sick.  Do you?
