I agree with what you say about the MT industry, as does every MT I know.
People can talk about things that negatively affect them without expecting that those things are going to change. In fact, maybe the only people who are not thinking realistically about the MT industry are people who are making a decent living at it. It's likely that they are in the minority and may be attributing their relative success to their work ethic, intelligence, and high level of expertise rather than their very favorable, but rare, work situation.
