Job Requirements: Medical language specialist who interprets and transcribes dictation by physicians and other healthcare providers with various/extreme verbal accents in order to document patient care in an extremely time sensitive manner.

*** Shifts may vary--must be able to work flexible hours***



Essential Functions:

Provide accurate and timely transcribed reports of physician/health professional dictation within specified time frame. Report types include operative reports, procedure reports, clinic visits for all specialties, discharge summaries, admission H&P, psychiatric consultations and "abilities" letters, pathology and autopsy.
Ability to provide 95% accuracy on a minimum of 150 lines of spoken dictation per hour daily.


Qualifications: Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for government security clearance to include credit check. Criminal background check and drug/alcohol screen required.



Education: High school diploma or GED, medical transcription certificate from school such as SAC, Career Point, etc. and/or 2 years medical transcription experience covering hospitals and trauma centers.



Experience:

Preferred:

5 years of medical transcribing for hospitals/trauma centers/pathology and using computers.

Competent word processor with speed of 90 wpm.

Previous experience working with transcribing and interpreting dictation, to include numerous foreign accents.
