Been there - Done that

Are you IC or employee? Did the email subject line mention notice of resignation/termination of contract? Did your email request confirmation of receipt and acknowledgment, as well as a hard copy reference confirming your dates of employment/contract with the company? Did it mention that you expect to receive any necessary exit/contract paperwork from the company at least 48 hours prior to your last working day? Did it make reference to the exact amount of any accrued PTO (if applicable) that is to be included with your final paycheck? Did you copy the email to any other upper management (team lead, QA Manager, Transcription Supervisor, HR, CEO, etc.) in order to cover all bases? Could it possibly be that the owner has a ton of emails and hasn't even gotten to yours yet?

The companies treat us so badly that we have to make sure we cover our collective butts and leave no room for loopholes or margins of error. Maybe wait until the middle of this next week and then re-contact with copies to everyone. If you still don't hear anything back, then priority mail a certified letter, return receipt requested. Make sure you have any necessary information backed up to a flash drive in case your company does a remote uninstall of software and any other proprietary information. When that last day comes, take a breath and no matter how broke you might be, go out and buy yourself a present. Even just a new flavor of Chapstick. Then eat a fair amount of chocolate, turn the page, and get ready for the next round, whatever it might be. Merry Xmas.
