Interview with a Medical Transcripionist - Ashley

Posted: Nov 27th, 2016 - 9:54 pm

Greetings!  I'm actually looking to interview someone within the medical transcription field for a class project I've been assigned.  I'm taking a technology class for my court reporting/closed captioning studies, and my class is currently discussing and learning a bit about medical transcription.

If someone would be willing to answer a few questions, I would greatly appreciate the input:

  1. What prompted you to enter this field?
  2. What is it about medical transcription that you love the most?
  3. What is your least favorite aspect of this job?
  4. Do you work out of home, within a hospital, or freelance?
  5. What advice would you give to someone wanting to enter this line of work?
  6. How long did it take you to get to the level of proficiency and accuracy you are at currently?
  7. How many hours are typically spent transcribing and editing within a day?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.  Thank you so much!
