Thanks. I've been transcribing for over 30 years. I know about shortcuts and macros, etc. The software we have to use is not transcription friendly so there is no opportunity for using any shortcut, macro. My reason for asking about hyphenating the year-old was to hear from other transcriptionists on their use of it.
