EKG S1, S2...singular or plural? - Yeah, really stupid question, I know. sm Posted: Oct 26th, 2016 - 11:02 am
Believe it or not, I have been an MT for way too long, but conflicting dictation practices has me questioning myself yet again. On an EKG, I always considered S1, S2 separate entities, thus plural; however, I kept track for 2 weeks and about 80% of the dictators say "S1, S2 is..." like a unit (singular). This was a pretty good sampling of American, ESL, young, middle aged and senior. So, esteemed panel of MTs, please help me get this right. BTW, I have transcribed it both ways and have not been dinged yet. Thanks!
