Definitely stay put. If you don't like your current job at the hospital, do look into applying for other openings within the hospital. At least there, you have a guaranteed hourly rate, benefits, a pension plan, things very hard to come by and very expensive for an IC MT to be able to afford. I can understand not liking the medical records environment though. I worked in one in the past. Definitely the trenches of the hospital. You get no respect there. It is possible to transfer to other departments though.
