Thanks for your replies. Unfortunately, neither really answered my question.

1shopper: The link you provided was primarily about cancer staging, not specifically about lymph nodes.

In reply to the "nm" message, as I stated in the original post, I knew that the neck/cervical lymph nodes were Roman numerals. I'm wondering about lymph nodes elsewhere in the body.

To further clarify, if a doctor is doing the physical exam and they are referring to some "shottiness in the II and III cervical lymph nodes," I know that should be Roman numerals. But I've also had them refer to lymph nodes elsewhere in the body and given a number associated. Not for cancer staging, but in reference to WHICH lymph node they are discussing.

Again, I appreciate you taking the time to reply, but it's not exactly what I'm looking for.
