Actually, the IRS is coming down on companies that hire ICs but treat them as employees. For good reason because many companies classify workers as independent contractors but treat them as employees to keep from paying taxes. The IRS is fining them. Unfortunately, many MTs will not do what I did and stand up against, as in my case, these unscrupulous MTSOs. We've been brain washed to accept erroneous "facts," as in you have to be on a schedule and commit to daily line counts when that is not true. Micromanaging is control, plain and simple. If a company has to exert that much control, they have to hire employees.
