There are some states that allow this if YOU WORK AT HOME. Personally, I think that is discrimination, but that is the way it is. Also, if your company requires you to clock in and out and you are not doing so, you could have a big problem on your hands with management, as they can require you to make up that time, or terminate you for fraud regarding your time sheet.
I went through this a few years ago. I was spending 10-12 hours a day trying to get in 8 hours worth of work. If this is happening to you on a frequent basis, the company may "require" you to change your shift. I would say no, and if this continues, you need to find somewhere else to work.
