I spoke to the Dept. of Labor and according to them if you are required to sit and wait for work and are required to be there for your shift, they have to pay you even if it is minimum wage. I have a contract with no end date and I plan on filing a complaint. It is also a law in my state as well. I stay clocked in. Having to check back every 10-15 minutes does not allow time to do anything or go anywhere except to sit at the computer. I used to get paid down time but the company decided to no longer pay me, even though I work weekends and very little work is available but they require coverage.
