Leg cramps - longtimemt Posted: Sep 21st, 2016 - 6:59 pm In Reply to: Quinine - anon
I used to get them all the time, now only occasionally. If you soak a wash cloth in vinegar and apply it to the area the cramp will usually go away in a matter of about 10 minutes give or take however, the smell of vinegar lingers for quite a while. I take a pill called Hylands Leg Cramps that I get at Wal-Mart, you are supposed to take them when you start getting a leg cramp but I take one every night before bed and very seldom have any leg cramps anymore. I asked the pharmacist about quinine at Wal-Mart because that is what my mom always took and was told it was not available anymore but she told me about these, which she said was the equivalent. I take them faithfully because I used to get cramps 3-4 times a week. They cost me about $5 for a month's worth, worth every penny not to have more than 1-2 leg cramps every few months!
