If you are eligible for the RHIT, go for it!! After you get some coding experience under your belt, go for the CCS if you like.
At my hospital, the RHIT is golden so those gals wouldn't even dream of sitting for the CCS; no reason to. If you are young, I recommend both, for job security. Both are great to have so if you want to be invaluable, get both.
I am a credential junkie. No one can take them away from you (as long as you keep up your CEU's) so go for it while you are still up on your knowledge.
