page 129: Use a hyphen to form a compound modifier between a number and a word if it precedes and modifies a noun. This only applies to English units of measure like inch or pound, for example. Do not use a hyphen with metric measurements like cm, mm, etc. I'm not sure if this applies to 10-blade, but I couldn't find a definitive rule about this. I have used 10-blade or #10-blade myself when transcribing.
