AAPC won't accept AHIMA approved CEUs, but AHIMA accepts all AAPC CEUs, so I just get all of mine through AAPC and they count for both. Regarding getting your CCS, when I graduated the CCS was suspended and it wasn't an option. I then got my CPC and I have an outpatient coding job, although I had taken all of the classes required to sit for the CCS. The CCS does not help at my current position, but once it was offered again I took it since it would provide more flexibility and possibly job opportunities if I decided to pursue other options in the future.
