Say you only wanted to work part time, maybe 4 days a week, or half days for 5. Would you state up front that you will not be working nights and holidays. Have any of you found that MTSOs try to dictate how often and how long you take off? I understand accounts need to be covered. However, they are the ones hiring ICs instead of employees and you would think they would expect ICs to take off more than the standard 10 days that most MTSOs offer. Do any of these companies have "standard" time off for ICs?
My income will be as good or better once I retire, but I would still like to work part-time and not be worked like a dog as I have been since I can remember being an MT. Perhaps I will find a company who asks for PRN help.
