Did I miss something? Where is the VALUE in this 'asset' if it is not to increase your VALUE to a potential employer, i.e., to that employer, you are worth paying more $$?
I do not believe it is a 'misunderstanding' that getting credentialed (in any profession) is considered an avenue to increase earning potential. Credentials are actively advertised as a way to increase earning potential. Warm fuzzies are nice and kudos to people who go in to the process of accreditation for their own satisfaction, but that is not the way these credentials are advertised. Nope, not ever.
