I haven't read all of the responses. I think I can pretty much figure them out.

The upshot of this is, for me...
1. You don't want to break in. There are many more satisfying things to do, unless you are tied to home and tied to a chair---even then I would make every effort to find something else.

2. The industry is on the way out. There are a lot of really angry people with this situation (which I am sure you have already found).

3. Perhaps, if you insist, on MTSO employment, you could go in as management, with your resume.

and...
4. Can you break in without formal training? Maybe, probably not. Most don't want to mess with anybody with less than 3 years acute hospital care experience. 30 years ago. yes, you could "break in" without formal training, but you were not working at home alone and there was a lot of support on-site.

So, no, you can't, and no you don't want to, and I apologize for everyone's making you miserable for even asking.
