A virtual apology - 2ndjob Posted: Aug 11th, 2016 - 7:50 pm In Reply to: Working whenever you want. sm - arnold
I appreciate those of you who have articulated the "dislike" of my post. I was never trying to offend anyone. Hence my post to begin with. I was trying to better understand the work field and the options. I was unaware that working "when I want" would jeopardize full-time MTs. Call that naive, but I was not trying to belittle anyone's work or situation or story or career. I have my own story. One that involves a lot of work NOT in transcription. Doing all of this work barely gets my family by. I pursued transcription as a way to take the "edge" off our finances. But I am very limited in hours because I have little people to take care of. That is the ONLY reason I was searching for such extreme flexibility (and I'm fully aware that it's extreme, which is why I was posting to see if I was being absurd). I was half-way expecting replies affirming that I'd never find work like this. But I wasn't expecting the defensiveness or "dislikes".
So truly, I am sorry. I appreciate all of you. We are all doing the best we can, right?
This feedback helps me as I consider my job search. Thank you all and I wish everyone only the best.
