MT thinking about medical coding - April06

I am a current MT who is considering going to school for medical coding. I would appreciate any information anyone could provide about coding concerning pay, job security, benefits. Do you work weekends/holidays? Also, I would like to attend an online school. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good online coding school?  Any information would be useful as I want to make the right decision. Thank you!
