You don't do those things - you have to pay good money to a lawyer to do those things. Unless you want to pay good money to go to school to become a lawyer yourself so you can then do it for free. Or even if it is an easy thing, you have to take time off from your existing work to spend hours at the courthouse on multiple occasions.

Again, ICs, self-employed people have no true protection. I am sitting here with one month's worth of invoices that have not been paid by an MTSO. Good grief, if the ex-husband could do it with overdue child support then an MTSO can certainly do it with nonpayment. So if we find ourselves not getting paid, we have to be proactive and get out before that amount gets too large.
