A lot of doctors will refuse service now if you don't provide them with your SS#, because they want to be able to come after YOU if your insurance bails on paying the bill. And without your SS# its too easy to hide from bill collectors.
Thanks to scumbag bottom feeding PoS identity thieves there is nearly no place safe anymore where you don't have to worry about your private information being compromised.
