I too hate the whole cherry picking crap. Keystrokes tells their team leads they can cherry pick the work (and they DO!). I had been told that by my fellow MTs and saw it firsthand. Then, later, when I was promoted to Shift Manager for a small MTS, I was appalled that they told me to do the same.

The rationale: The team lead/shift leader is spending time handling administrative issues, and the company doesn't want to pay them for those duties. So, they figure they can just pad up a big line count (since they're paid by the line like all the MTs) and it all evens out.

I hated that system! In fact, I didn't stay there long anyway. But it was how I learned why it's done that way. It isn't fair to the other MTs no matter how you slice it. AND it can really screw up TATs.
