You are the one who doesn't get it. - who cannot afford 48$ a month ...

and just don't go to the doctor/hospital if you cannot afford the 6,000 deductible !! Your 48$ a month premium will give you health insurance. Disasters happen. You could get cancer, get hit by a bus, any number of things. Just think, for the low, low bargain price (not kidding here) of 48$ a month you are covered for whatever comes your way, meteor or whatever. YOU ONLY PAY THE DEDUCTIBLE IF YOU GO TO THE DOCTOR/HOSPITAL.

Until the Affordable Care Act my sister-in-law was paying 500$ a month with a 5,000$ yearly deductible. After the ACA she paid only about 100$ a month with about the same deductible and the government paid the rest. Man on man was SHE happy ! It is like car insurance. You only use it when you need it but damn glad you have it THEN.
