like an actor or broadcaster, and it's stupid to expect them to.

OTOH, it would be reasonable to have software that takes account of that.

In other words, if you work for a company that doesn't have a full-featured wav player and won't even allow you to do anything to improve the sound of the files you have to transcribe, you should be annoyed with your company management, not the dictators.
