I get this message often myself, but I have absolutely NOT lost internet connection. What it should say is that "your connection to our server was lost," as that's more than likely the issue. It's definitely an issue on their end and not with the user's internet connection.
Whether it has anything to do with some conspiracy to transfer work elsewhere, I can't say, but I CAN say that it's completely unnecessary to be rude.
There are really some nasty people on this board.
