After a few-year hiatus, I had a free moment so stopped by to peruse this board. Wow, some things never change:
* The occupation of MT is as -- if not more -- stressful as it was when I got out: Companies micromanaging the typing (never-ending audits, not for accuracy but for following THEIR rules), lower and lower pay resulting in endless hours worked just to pay the bills, etc.
* MTs are still very "know it all" narcissistic-type personalities. It is said (Google if you don't believe it) that the medical field is a magnet for narcissists, and this is demonstrated on this board. Endless arguments about minutiae, condescending put-downs, etc. You guys COULD be civil to each other, but of course you don't want to.
I have moved on and earned my bachelor's in another field. I did very well as an MT but am so glad to be out!!
