I think a lot of doctor's offices use scribes. I was offered a job as a scribe, which actually was posted for transcription, but I do not want to do that kind of work, just don't like the idea of constantly being right there on the docs schedule in the room with the patient. This whole transcription "thing" is starting to become a downer for real, but what else do I do now? I miss the good old days of having my one or two orthopedic doctors and just working on my own schedule, but he went to EMR and Dragon so that's life nowadays. All that's pretty much left is acute care work/hospital work.
