I type a lot of Oncology work where summaries have to be made bringing all the testing, pathology, gene mutation analyses, etc. has to be considered to come up with a treatment plan. They dictate all that. Then there is dictation of discussion of alternative treatment plans. A scribe cannot possibly do that him/herself and also save the physician time.
I too wonder why everything is for acute care. Those hospitals can't get the patient out quick enough. So much medical care is done in the ambulatory setting and office setting. Where is all that work? We should be swimming in job offers because of that from MTSOs and in-office. I do not get it.
