and I think that is one reason the IRS is pursuing this vigorously. The medical transcription field should give the IRS a "field" day. Once a determination is made that an IC has been misclassified and is an employee, then for sure you will be able to claim unemployment compensation but don't know about minimum wage, although that would seem conceivable. I cannot find that on the IRS website. Might have to call the DOL on that one.
