Transcriptionist vs coder. - Please help.

Has anyone out there worked as an acute care transcriptionist and changed to work as a coder? Did you find your MT experience helped you become a coder? Which of the two jobs did you find more challenging? Do you have any advice for an MT who would like to work as a coder.
