to me it is almost like autocorrect. it is much easier to use than Instant Text, which I hated as I found it clunky and not easy to use. but everybody has their own preferences. Shorthand is a paid subscription and depending on how many computers or users you want to license, it is $29.95 per year for one license, which i find is reasonable. I love it!
