I know that is not the purpose of your post, but for anyone struggling (I often think of single parents with small children especially) I hope you will consider applying for some assistance. Depending where you live, you may be able to perhaps a $1,000 per year discounted from your fuel/electric bill. You may be able to qualify for food assistance or rent assistance.
One thing a lot of people do not realize, is that a lot of programs are based on your last 3 months of income. So, say you made $30,000 last year, but you were laid off part of the last 3 months and only made like $3,000 those months, you might still qualify.
I hate to see people struggling. Stress does a lot of damage in so many ways.
