Definitely go to a local university and finish your degree. You most definitely would qualify for assistance for the credits, and possibly they have on-site childcare or after school assistance.
Use your local food pantry to supplement your food supplies. They are there to help people in your situation. Even many smaller communities now have free clinics for health and dental care. Use them. You need to be in survival mode for you and your child. Very soon, you will at the end of this tunnel and maybe you will be able to return the favor by helping someone else at one of these services. These services are all a "hand up", not a handout.
Don't be ashamed to tell your family and friends about the situation you are in. Don't wait until you might be in a situation financially that you can't get out. Let people know you may need help soon. You may be surprised at what every small gesture of support can help keep you afloat.
