8 cpl with no benefits does not meet the prevailing wage in any area that I am aware of. Plus, in addition to the prevailing wage you should be paid another $4 an hour to cover benefits if they are not provided. DOL investigations can sometimes take months depending on the number of contracts so the sooner you contact the DOL where you're company is located and get the process started the better. Any MTSO who is still misclassifying MTs on VA accounts are risking owing back wages, penalties, fines, being reported to the IRS and possible debarment, so to you companies who are "selling out" in hopes that you can hide behind the name change will eventually get caught because as you can see word is spreading so just DO THE RIGHT THING!
