I have yet to have a holiday that I haven't signed out OOW. And when there is work, it is specialties/accounts I've never done before, thereby making sure my QA/QC/line count go down.
I had bronchitis and was almost hospitalized and was not allowed to take time off. I had 4 hours of PTO (which as part time takes forever to achieve), and I chose to disperse it 1 hour per day on the ones I just couldn't even sit up. They didn't care about a 102 temp, that I could walk a few steps and not be able to breathe. Better have that PTO if you "plan" on being sick.
